When I am working I am so involved that it is only by taking photos and stopping to stand-back and review work that I can review in new eyes. Sometimes new ideas come after several days or in relation to the work that I have seen other people do. My Bog-man, like a lot of my works, has changed every time that I work it. I prefer the immediacy of the initial effort but find it hard not to try to perfect and consciously control the work. However, the current figure has been abject and it seems there is artistic licence to allow me to create the abnormal. Nevertheless, I do want to revisit the rib area because it looks completely wrong to me. I may just cover over a lot of it with the tissue but it will be better just to get the anatomy more correct first. Sometimes it comes easy to create but other times it is very challenging.
